Knowledge is Power!

Hence why I love acquiring new knowledge. I just love learning and when I first had my brain injury, I was devastated as I thought I would never be able to learn new things again. However I turned that around by not learning to gain knowledge for power. But I use learning as a form of therapy for my injured brain. And I strongly believe because of that determination, my traumatic brain injury heals faster than what the doctors anticipated.

When I decided to go back to University as a mature student with a history of brain injury, I remember my mom and doctor were not pleased with it. Though I must admit it wasn’t easy but I actually enjoyed it. Till today being a small business owner, there are a number of skills set or tasks which I learn to do them myself and this has saved me a lot of money and stress. Although at times, learning something new can cause a lot of headaches and anxiety to a point, but I still love the process because I know I’ll be learning something new and adding more experience to my life. There’s something about learning that makes you satisfied and happy. There are a lot of reasons why you should never stop learning, here’s a few mentioned below:

1.    You Will Be Happier

Learning is something that hardest when you’re into the wrong thing and the easiest when it’s something you love. How do you do that? People are more dedicated to learning when they have certain goals that they have set for their life. When they don’t rely on others for happiness, they find it in learning. Learning is always in your control, you get to decide when to learn, what to learn and how many hours you want to put in it. Eventually, it makes you a happier person.

2.    You’ll Be of More Value

The best kind of person is the one that can adapt to the circumstances and situations. It’s our ability to react at different situations that makes us stronger. The more you know, the more ways you will have to handle a situation. You can be of more value since you will be able to perform in various conditions in various ways. This will make you irreplaceable and much more valuable.

3.    Have a Healthier Brain

Henry Ford was a man ahead of his time in a lot of ways, according to him, “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young”.

One of Harvard Health Publications notes, A higher level of education is associated with better mental functioning in old age. What does this mean for you? Learning is more important than ever to sharpen your mind and retain memory as you get older.

4.    Your Bucket List is feeling awfully neglected lately

You may not know it, but there are a lot of things that you want to do. You have got a big bucket list and you have no idea about it. Haven’t you ever saw something and went like, jeez I want to learn how to do that. Like surfing, singing or dancing?

It’s a part of life. Learning new things. And checking your bucket list is one of the best ways to learn. You can do what you’ve wanted to do always and be happy about it. It will make you feel more satisfied and give you a better and healthier brain.

5.    It Gets You Connected to People around You

Learning gets you more connected with your friends, family and your significant other. This is because, with learning, you gain knowledge. And that’s always interesting. Sharing knowledge with your friends and family can get you in a better and much stronger bond with them.

You can learn with your friends about things that you have always talked about. It will make the experience much more fun and give you long lasting memories.
